Walker
Walker developed from a rural riverside settlement into a major industrial community during the 19th and 20th centuries. The area became closely linked with coal mining, shipbuilding, and engineering along the River Tyne. Following industrial decline, Walker underwent regeneration and today retains a strong community identity shaped by its working-class heritage.
