Your Benwell and Scotswood Labour Councillors were delighted to support the Recycling Pop Up event in Pendower, helping to promote the importance of recycling and encouraging residents to make the most of the services available locally.
The event is part of an initiative introduced by the Labour administration at Newcastle City Council, designed to make recycling easier and more accessible for communities across the city. By bringing recycling information and support directly into neighbourhoods, the pop-up events help residents understand what can be recycled, reduce waste and play their part in protecting the environment.
The Pendower event provided a great opportunity to speak with local residents, answer questions and share the message that recycling not only helps safeguard the future of our planet but can also save money by reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.
Councillor Rob Higgins said:
“It was great to support the Recycling Pop Up event in Pendower and speak with local residents about the importance of recycling. Small changes made by all of us can have a big impact, helping to protect our environment while also making sure we use council resources wisely. The Labour council is committed to making recycling easier for residents and supporting communities to reduce waste.”
The Benwell and Scotswood Labour team thanked everyone who attended the event and encouraged residents to continue recycling wherever possible to help create a cleaner, greener Newcastle for future generations.
