Lemington Labour councillors have secured further investment in free youth provision, building on sustained work to give local young people safe activities and trusted support close to home.
The announcement recognises the importance of safe, positive opportunities outside school and the need to make support available in neighbourhoods where young people can reach it.
Youth sessions can help young people build confidence, develop skills, form friendships and access trusted adults. They also give families reassurance that free and constructive activities are available locally.

Labour councillors Stephen Barry-Stanners and Barry Phillipson have made youth services a local priority, helping bring significant funding into the ward and expanding the number of weekly sessions available. The approach combines organised activities with outreach so support reaches young people rather than waiting for them to ask.
This is an investment in young people’s confidence, skills and wellbeing as well as in community safety. Labour will continue listening directly to young people and families, monitoring participation and pressing for provision that covers the different neighbourhoods within Lemington.
