Former Newcastle City Council member for Blakelaw Linda Hobson has been recognised for her dedicated service to the city after being awarded the title of Honorary Alderman of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Linda Hobson was first elected to Newcastle City Council in 2011 for Westerhope ward before returning to the council in 2018 to represent Blakelaw. During her time on the council, she served as Cabinet Member for Housing from 2019 to 2022, helping to shape housing policy and support residents across the city. She later served on the Finance and Budget Monitoring Scrutiny Committee, continuing her commitment to ensuring strong governance and effective decision-making.
At last night’s meeting of Newcastle City Council, Linda was awarded the honorary title of Honorary Alderman in recognition of her dedicated service and contribution to the city and its residents.
Leader of the Newcastle Labour Group, Councillor Ged Bell, congratulated Linda on receiving the honour.
