Voters in Newcastle delivered their verdict on Labour’s vision for Newcastle as Labour Candidates retained and won new seats across the city with the overall citywide result of:
Labour 30814
LibDem 14831
UKIP 8965
Cons 6774
Others 7148
The hard-work of Labour Councillors was recognised by voters who continued to abandon the Lib Dems and put their faith in Labour. Judgement was passed on the Tory-LibDem government’s unfair cuts on the North East, its attack on the less well off in our communities and the selling off of our public services.
Even though the rain poured down residents from across the city came out to make their views known. New Labour Councillors are:
Cllr Ben Riley (Blakelaw)
Cllr Anna Round (Denton)
Cllr Karen Kilgour (Fenham)
Cllr Arlene Ainsley (South Jesmond)
Cllr Jacqui Robinson (Woolsington)
