Labour councillors are encouraging residents to help shape the future of Wingrove’s green spaces by suggesting locations for new trees.
Through the North East Community Forest project, thousands of trees will be planted across the region, improving air quality, increasing biodiversity and helping tackle climate change.
Wingrove Labour councillors are asking residents to identify places where additional trees would make the biggest difference.
Councillor Rebecca Shatwell said:
“Labour is committed to creating greener, healthier neighbourhoods. We want residents to tell us where they would like to see more trees planted so we can continue improving our local environment.”
Suggested locations already include Wingrove Road, Wingrove Road North and the Fountains Row area.
The project is another example of Labour investing in communities and creating neighbourhoods that people can be proud of.
