Last week, Kim McGuinness visited the fantastic Grainger Park Boxing Club alongside Councillor Robert Higgins to see first-hand the incredible work being led by Phillip Andrew Reid and the dedicated team at the club.
Grainger Park Boxing Club has become much more than a place to train. It is a vital community hub, providing young people with positive opportunities, strong role models, and a safe environment where they can build confidence, develop new skills, and stay on the right path.
Over the past two years, we have been proud to work alongside the club on initiatives such as Gloves Up, Knives Down and Off The Streets. These projects have helped give young people positive alternatives to crime while raising awareness of the dangers of becoming involved in violence and criminal activity.
Community clubs like Grainger Park Boxing Club play a crucial role in preventing crime before it starts. By investing in young people, creating opportunities, and fostering a sense of belonging, they are helping to build safer, stronger communities for everyone.
