Joanne Kingsland Awarded Honorary Alderman Status

Former Newcastle City Council member for Arthur’s Hill Joanne Kingsland has been recognised for her dedicated service to the city after being awarded the title of Honorary Alderman of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Joanne Kingsland was first elected to Newcastle City Council in 1995 for Jesmond ward before later representing Westgate, which became Arthurs Hill following boundary changes. During her years of service, she held a number of roles supporting the work of the council while serving her local community with commitment and dedication.

At last night’s meeting of Newcastle City Council, Joanne was awarded the honorary title of Honorary Alderman in recognition of her long-standing service and contribution to the city and its residents.

Leader of the Newcastle Labour Group, Councillor Ged Bell, congratulated Joanne on receiving the honour.

“Joanne has devoted many years to serving the people of Newcastle with commitment and care. On behalf of the Newcastle Labour Group, I would like to thank Joanne for her dedicated service to our city and congratulate her on this thoroughly well-deserved honour. Her contribution to Newcastle has made a real difference, and this recognition is a fitting tribute to her years of public service.”
