Newcastle Labour welcomes confirmation that Fenham Association of Residents is among 20 voluntary and community organisations receiving investment through the Labour Government’s Pride in Place Impact Fund.
£400,000 in grants have been announced across the city following 68 applications. Awards range from £10,700 to £30,000 and are intended to support practical improvements to community places and spaces.
The association runs the FAR Community Centre on Acanthus Avenue and has served Fenham residents since 1988. The centre provides activities and support for children, young people, families, older residents and the wider community, offering a familiar local place where people can meet, learn and get help.
We will share the confirmed project and timetable when these are available. The proposed quotation below is a draft and requires approval before publication.
A Newcastle Labour spokesperson said:
“Fenham Association of Residents has a long record of bringing people together and providing practical support. We are pleased that the FAR Community Centre has been included in this investment and look forward to seeing how the funding will improve this valued local facility.”
