Newcastle Labour has announced proposals for a £50 million pound programme of city-wide highways investment as part of the councils annual budget.
An initial £1 million of funding to start work on some of the worst affected roads in the city has already been committed, and following discussions between your Lemington ward Labour councillors and council officers, two major roads within Lemington ward will beincluded in this initial round of resurfacing.
Tyne View and Scotswood Road will be resurfaced later in the year.
This is great news for Lemington ward, yoiur Labour councillors will be meeting with the portfolio holder and officers soon to make sure that all Lemington streets that need repairing will be included in the future programme of works.
