Residents can now enjoy safer access through Cragton Park following the installation of new barriers designed to prevent motorised vehicles from using the footpath.
The improvements were delivered after local residents raised concerns with the Blakelaw Labour team about vehicles accessing the path, creating potential safety risks for pedestrians, families and people using mobility aids.
The newly installed barriers will help protect the footpath while maintaining access for walkers, wheelchair users, pushchairs and cyclists.
Labour councillors worked with council officers to ensure the concerns raised by the community were addressed, making the park a safer place for everyone.
Councillor Juna Sathian said:
“Residents told us they were worried about motorised vehicles using this footpath, and we listened. These new barriers are a simple but effective improvement that will make Cragton Park safer for everyone who uses it. We’re committed to working with local people to tackle the issues that matter and improve our neighbourhoods.”
The Blakelaw Labour team continues to work with residents to identify local improvements that help make the ward cleaner, safer and more accessible.
