Born in Newcastle in 1957, Mary Glindon was educated at Sacred Heart Grammar School and Northumbria University. Before her parliamentary career, she served on the North Tyneside Council from 1995 to 2010, acting as Mayor from 1999 to 2000. She previously worked as an Administrative Officer for the Department for Work and Pensions and managed North Shields’ People’s Centre.
