Blakelaw Labour councillors were pleased to support a Recycling Pop-Up event in the ward, helping residents learn more about recycling services and how small changes can make a big difference to the local environment.
The event forms part of Newcastle City Council’s Labour-led commitment to making recycling easier and more accessible by bringing advice, information and support directly into local communities. Residents had the opportunity to ask questions, find out what can be recycled and learn how reducing waste benefits both the environment and the city.
The pop-up also provided a chance for councillors to speak with local people about wider environmental issues and encourage everyone to play their part in creating a cleaner, greener Blakelaw.
Labour Councillor Linda Hobson said:
“It was wonderful to meet residents at the Recycling Pop-Up event and talk about the simple steps we can all take to reduce waste and recycle more. These events make it easier for people to access information and support close to home, helping everyone do their bit for the environment. Labour is committed to making recycling as straightforward as possible while building cleaner, greener neighbourhoods across Blakelaw.”
The Blakelaw Labour team thanked everyone who came along and encouraged residents to continue making full use of the city’s recycling services to help create a more sustainable future for Newcastle.
