The team out litter picking in Blakelaw

We are working together with residents to make our ward a cleaner, greener place to live.

Every Saturday at 10.30 am, the Clean Community, Clean World group brings people together for a litter pick. This simple action has already made a real difference to streets, green spaces and paths across the ward, and helps build pride in where we live.

Cllr Dr Juna Sathian said, “This is about people taking pride in where they live and looking out for one another. When we work together, even small actions can make a big difference.”

We are improving our green spaces. Trees have been planted in Blakelaw Park and throughout the ward, including lime, wild cherry and river birch. Community volunteers have also taken part in bulb planting and hedging schemes, planting hawthorn, holly, dog rose, hazel and blackthorn.

This work is making our neighbourhood cleaner, greener and a better place for everyone!
