Earlier today Labour councillor for Benwell, Scotswood and Denton Burn, Rob Higgins, visited St James Church in Benwell to make a donation of tools for their ongoing work in the graveyard.
Rob said:
“I was delighted to be able to make a donation of tools to the wonderful ‘Graveyard Group’ who look after the cemetery at St James Church in Benwell where so many prominent Tyneside families have their final resting place”.
The Graveyard Group meets every Wednesday morning at St James Church and is always looking for new volunteers so why not go along they are a lovely bunch!
