Welfare Rights sessions at Nunsmoor Centre every Tuesday from 9.30am to 12 noon

Your local Labour campaign team have welcomed the news from the recent budget that the Labour government will be helping some of the poorest families by scrapping the two child benefit cap that was introduced by the previous Tory government.

Over 60,000 children in the North East of England live in poverty and this includes a significant number of children living in Arthur’s Hill, who will directly benefit from this positive change.

There are still, however, many people locally who are struggling including many hard working families on low incomes or people who cannot work due to caring needs and responsibilities. You may be entitled to more help with benefits that you are not aware of. If you do need advice then you can drop in to the weekly Welfare Rights sessions funded by the local Ward Committee which take place at Nunsmoor Centre every Tuesday from 9.30am to 12 noon. No appointment needed.

Also, if you need any help with council related matters such as housing issues, anti-social behaviour and community safety or street cleaning or you have ideas for bringing people together in the community then do pop into the councillors’ surgery which takes place at the NU Foundation building on Diana Street from 10am to 11am on the fourth Saturday of each month except August and December.
